Atlas developers cannot run atlas from a local db. They rely on our deployed environments which are shared across all teams. If someone breaks the developers' sandbox environment, or there is a database refresh or other outage, it can halt developers ability to work, QA can't test, and the application is unusable for research or demo purposes.
The ask would be to invest time, which could be spread across IP iterations, to create the ability to not be dependent on Salesportal etc. databases' uptime. A developer could run their application locally against a local database that was seeded with test data. Similarly we could leverage the data seeding towards standing up a new deployed instance for QA.

We 100% need something like this since the db has grown quite large and will only get bigger. Nick will look to scheudle time for us with Ballenger and Les to discuss options and possible SPIKE stories in future IP sprints. This could greatly reduce time for onboarding new devs as well as the time it takes new features to be developed.
